PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Updated 7/11/10

Mutuality in a congregation means that all God's people are called to equip and empower one another in ministry. It is not just the pastors who are in the ministry, but the ministry of each member of the congregation is also important. Congregations will benefit from a small group of people who work intentionally and intensively to encourage the ministry and mission of the congregation. This takes place through relationship building, through scanning the congregation's mission and focus, through making observations, and through offering suggestions to the congregation Council. The Mutual Ministry committee is to consider the potential for ministry, the unmet needs, and the opportunities for nurturing an active, educated congregation with healthy relationships. Any suggestions are to be constructive in nature with the intention of building up, not tearing down.
